The Radio and Television Supreme Council has announced that 14 radio stations and TV channels have been given permission to broadcast in Kirmanci, Zaza and Arabic. Previous restrictions have been lifted.

The Turkish Radio and Television started its test broadcasting in Kurdish. Since 24 hour broadcasting in Kurdish has no legal basis, the move is perceived as an investment for the next elections by the ruling party.

The Supreme Council of Radio and Television (RTÜK) gives permission to the FM 49 radio to do non-musical broadcasting by allowing a health program aired in Kurdish. However, the radio is waiting for a politically more suitable period to do the broadcasting.

The TRT8 of the Turkish State Television will start broadcasting in Kurdish on January 1. But no regulation explaining how this will be done exists yet.
