Prof. İştar Gözaydın has been acquitted in her fourth hearing after having stayed in custody for 94 days.

Prof. İştar Gözaydın detained on the charge of “being a member of a terrorist organization” in connection with the “Fethullahist Terrorist Organization/Parallel State Organization” had her first hearing yesterday after being released with an international travel ban. Her next hearing will be on January 12.

Stating that Prof. Dr. İştar Gözaydın being arrested without solid evidence and on grounds of some false denunciations was unacceptable, human rights organizations demanded Gözaydın’s immediate release.

Professor İştar Gözaydın has been arrested on the 8th day of her being detained as part of the “FETÖ/PDY Investigation” launched into Gediz University from which she was suspended.

Relieved of her duty from Gediz University due to her posts against capital punishment and violence, Prof. İştar Gözaydın has been taken into custody.
