Sel Publishing Acquitted of "Obscenity" Charges
Publisher Sancı and interpreter Yerguz were acquitted even after the Prime Ministerial Board evaluated the three books on subject as "harming the public's sense of shame". An expert report by the Galatsaray University had previously assessed the books as "works of literature".

Publisher Sancı: Prosecuted and Awarded in One Day
Publisher Sancı received the International Publishers Association special award; at the same time he is being tried for publishing books acknowledged as world cultural heritage. In Turkey, 27 publishers have been standing trial, sentences were issued for 30 books in the past two years.

IPA Award Goes to İrfan Sancı
This year's special prize of the International Publishers Association will be awarded to Turkish publisher İrfan Sancı who is currently facing imprisonment on charges of "obscenity". The Freedom to Publish Award goes to Russian journalist İsrapil Shovkhalova.

Books from French Writer Reviewed by Prime Ministry
In the case on three allegedly obscene books, the court found an expert report issued by Galatasaray University insufficient. The file of publisher Sancı and interpreter Yerguz was sent to the Prime Ministerial Board for the Protection of Children from Harmful Publications.
