Standing trial for “entering a forbidden military zone” in Edirne while reporting on the situation of refugees heading towards Turkey-Greece border, Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reporters Naci Kaya and İdris Sayılğan have been acquitted.

The journalist's attorney has said that the allegations against him were the same as a previous case.

Announcing its opinion as to the accusations, the prosecutor’s office has demanded that journalist İdris Sayılğan be penalized on charge of “repeated terror propaganda” over his Facebook posts. He previously served 1,137 days behind bars.

Sayılğan had spent 1,137 days behind bars before being released by a court of appeal.
