The Constitutional Court has concluded that the ruling of house arrest given “without concrete evidence and the fulfilment of conditions for imposing judicial control measures” violated the applicant’s right to personal liberty and security.

Yüksel Street protesters Esra Özakça, Acun Karadağ, Nazife Onay, Nazan Bozkurt have been sentenced to house confinement. The verdict was rendered upon prosecutor’s office’s objection to decision of release on probation.

Police have attacked protest of sociologist Veli Saçılık, who was discharged through a statutory decree, and Esra Özakça, who went on a hunger strike following Semih Özakça and Nuriye Gülmen being sent to prison. Saçılık has been hit with dozens of plastic bullets.
