Men killed 19 women in July. In first seven months of 2015, men killed 160 women, raped 70 women and forced 122 women to prostitution.

According to bianet’s tally, men killed 21 women, raped 9 women and teenager girls and injured 25 women in June. 12% of women who exposed to violence were seriously injured with lethal weapons due to divorce claim or legal separation.

A compilation made by bianet revealed that male perpetrators left 26 women dead in May; 15% of them were killed due to divorce claim or because they refused reconciliation or marriage proposal.

CHP deputy Melda Onur asked in a parliamentary question submitted to the Minister for Family Affairs, "Considering the severity and urgency of the situation as reflected in the bianet report, why do we lose any time for a draft bill on the prevention of violence?"

According to data compiled by bianet, 24 women were killed by men in June this year. 13 women were raped, 20 women harassed and eleven women were injured. Most registered cases of violence took place in Istanbul.
