Supreme Court of Appeal Public Chief Prosecution Political Parties Registry Office notified the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) that the party's co-Chief Figen Yüksekdağ was removed from HDO membership and her record from the registry of the Supreme Court of Appeal.
Relieved of her MP duties earlier
Yüksekdağ had been relieved of her MP duties on February 21.
Yüksekdağ, who has been under arrest since November 4, was sentenced to 10 months in prison for attending the funeral of the Marxist Leninist Communist Party's (MLKP) Yasemin Çiftçi, who was killed by an improvised explosive device on February 13, 2012, a verdict the Supreme Court approved.
She was expelled from the Parliament after her conviction was handed down and was later approved in parliament. (EKN/DG)
