Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair and Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chair Devlet Bahçeli have come together in Çankaya Mansion in Ankara within the framework of new constitution talks.
The two leaders held a press meeting after the 1.5-hour meeting.
Yıldırım: Talks have matured
In his talk, Yıldırım said: “The talks have grown to a certain maturity and final reviews will be carried out. After that, as the Justice and Development Party, we will submit our constitutional amendment draft to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM)”.
“With the amendment, if president is elected his attachment with the party will continue. This is the most important change.
“If Allah lets, the plebiscite will be held in summer”.
Bahçeli: A text will be submitted to the TBMM in a very short time
Bahçeli in his speech said, “Our meeting today went well in the light of latest evaluations. A text will be submitted to the TBMM in a very short time if Allah lets”. (HK/TK)
