The Women's Solidarity Club of the Koç University announced that a woman was attacked in front of the West Campus in İstanbul's Sarıyer. Sharing a series of messages on social media on September 24, the students said that lighting and security was insufficient at the campus.
The message of the club read, "Today at around 8.30 pm, the students of Koç University witnessed that a woman was harassed and stabbed in her eye at the Koç University West Park. Coming there in two vehicles, the perpetrators fled the scene following the reactions."
Further in their message, the students indicated that they went to the hospital and learned that the attacked woman was in good health. They announced that the Women's Solidarity Club would follow up the process about the incident that happened at the school bus waiting area of the Koç University West Campus, "where lighting and security was not sufficient."
They said, "Thanks to our solidarity, one of the perpetrators was caught, and the attacked woman friend of ours identified the perpetrator."
"The place where the attack happened today has no lighting," they reiterated, adding, "We will foster women's solidarity in the face of the male-dominated system, which legitimizes harassment and rape. We don't expect justice from the police who do not come to the scene of the incident or from the judiciary that acquits at courts. We are justice. We won't stay silent!"
The students called for immediate measures, underlining that the security measures at the scene of the incident were not sufficient.
Bugün yaşanan saldırının gerçekleştiği yerin aydınlatması yok.

Tacizi, tecavüzü meşrulaştıran erkek egemen sistemin karşısında kadın dayanışmasını büyüteceğiz. Adaleti olay yerine gelmeyen polisten, mahkemelerde aklayan yargıdan beklemiyoruz.
