University student Gülistan Doku has been missing in Turkey's eastern province of Dersim since January 5, 2020. Search efforts for Gülistan Doku are still ongoing in the region where she was last seen.

While search and rescue teams are still searching for Doku in Uzunçayır Dam Lake, the efforts are now also continuing on the soil ground in the dam site as water has been drained from the dam.
On July 22, the water started to be drained from the dam, considering the allegation that Doku may have jumped off the bridge.
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), while a team of 70 people is currently searching for Doku, drones are also used in search efforts. Aygül Doku, the elder sister of Gülistan Doku, also follow the efforts of the team.
'No traces have yet been found'
Since July 22, the water level in the dam lake has been reduced by 16 meters. The dam has been divided into 17 parts and marked.
While divers from the Underwater Search and Rescue Group Command of Turkish Naval Forces have been referred to the area from different cities, gendarmerie and police divers have also joined the efforts. 10 teams in total have searched the area with 2 underwater cameras and sonar devices.
Special operations police teams from the Tunceli Provincial Security Directorate have also joined the search efforts for Gülistan Doku. One team has supported the efforts with a drone. Coming to Dersim from six cities, the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) teams have also searched the water surface and shores in boats.
However, no traces of Gülistan Doku have yet been found. Search efforts are still ongoing in the area. (SO/SD)
