Grazing cattle in Turkey's Aegean province of Afyon, 21-year-old Hamza and 10-year-old Muhammet Can Örnek siblings went in an irrigation pond to cool off. As the siblings and the cattle did not return home in Kızıldağ village, their family started searching for them.
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), the relatives of the brothers found their shoes by the waterside and reported the incident to the 112 Emergency Medical Service in case of drowning.
The paramedic teams, gendarmerie, Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) teams and diver police teams from the Konya Provincial Security Directorate were referred to the area.
The diver police teams searched for the siblings for nearly four hours and took the dead bodies of the sibling out of the water.
The deceased bodies of the brothers have been taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution's mortuary at the Afyonkarahisar Public Hospital. (RT/SD)
