Two earthquakes shook Turkey's northwestern Düzce province today (November 17).
The magnitude of the first earthquake at 3.40 p.m. was 5.3 according to the Boğaziçi University Kandilli Observatory and 5 according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
Tremors of the earthquake were also felt in nearby provinces, including Bolu, Sakarya, Kocaeli and İstanbul.
Another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 according to the Kandilli Observatory and 4.3 according to the AFAD shook the province at 3.57 p.m.
The earthquakes caused no casualties or material damage according to initial findings, the Ministry of Interior announced. (HA/VK)
