Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) members launched a car bomb attack on an area held by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in Syria’s region of Al-Bab at 1:40 p.m.
The TSK announced that five soldiers were killed and nine others injured in the ISIS attack.
The TSK also announced the names of the soldiers killed in the attack: Sergeant majors Saim Topal, Bahattin Bakır, Emre Doruk, Ramazan Taşkın and Mete Can.
The wounded soldiers were taken into the hospitals in provinces of Antep and Kilis for treatment.
A clash erupted following the attack, the TSK commenced an airstrike.
54 soldiers have lost their lives so far
Operation Euphrates Shield carried out by the TSK and Free Syrian Army (FSA) on August 24, 2016 is on its 150th day.
The death toll has risen to with the killings of the five soldiers. (AS/TK)
