State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced on Wednesday the growth rate of Turkey for the first three months of this year as 12.4 percent, a percentage "above the expectations."
The growth rate of Gross Domestic Product is announced as 10.1 percent.
According to figures of DIE, Gross National Product of Turkey for the first quarter of 2004 is 79 quadrillion 442 trillion 962 billion Turkish Liras (TL) in current prices, while it has become 27 trillion 295 billion TL in constant prices of 1987.
The growth rate has become 17.5 percent in current prices and 12.4 percent in constant prices in the first period of 2004 when compared with the same period of 2003.
The growth rate was recorded as 5.9 percent in the whole of 2003. (GC-AÖ) (YE)
