Following Zaman daily, three trustees have been appointed to Cihan News Agency operating also within the body of Feza Journalism Inc.
The agency has reported that Istanbul 1st Criminal Court of Peace has decided to appoint a trustee at request of İstanbul Chief Vice Prosecutor Fuzuli Aydoğdu.
At request of the same Vice Prosecutor, the trustees Sezai Şengönül, Attorney Tahsin Kaplan ve Attorney Metin İlhan who had been appointed to Zaman daily on Friday (March 4) by İstanbul 6th Criminal Court of Peace are now also on duty in Cihan News Agency.
The court has ruled that a new remuneration was not necessary as the appointment involved the same trustees appointed to Feza Journalism earlier.
The subscribers have reported that the agency had stopped sending news after the appointment of the trustees. The agency has begun to send news after two days on 4 p.m. yesterday.

İstanbul 6th Criminal Court of Peace had decided to appoint trustees to Zaman daily on March 4.

The trustees had been appointed on grounds of evidences supporting claims supporting the “parallel state and Fethullah Terrorist Organization”.
Following the decision, riot control vehicles (TOMA) have attacked the crowd gathered in front of the newspaper building with pressured water and pepper gas causing some injuries.
Yet İstanbul Chief Prosecutor Hadi Salihoğlu has stated that no disproportionate force has been used on the crowd. (AS/DG)
