Three children from Syria were killed in a house fire on Saturday (January 21) in the Dulkadiroğlu district of Maraş, southeast Türkiye, the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
Zehra el-Abdullah, 11, Abdurrahman 3 and Muhammed Atla, 1, are believed to have died of smoke inhalation.
The children were living with their mother, who was detained after the incident on suspicion of negligence. The children's funeral was held after her release.
The children's father was learned to have died a year ago.
In November, eight children, including toddlers, and a woman, who was the mother of four of them, died in a house fire in Bursa, northwestern Türkiye.
The Fisa Center for Children's Rights noted at the time that such losses of lives were more frequently seen in low-income neighborhoods. (AÖ/VK)
