Central Executive Committee (MYK) of Republican People’s Party (CHP) nominated Deniz Baykal, former CHP Leader who is a deputy of Antalya province now.
Meeting continued for two hours and the name of Baykal was agreed upon.
CHP Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will visit and inform Deniz Baykal related to the decision of MYK.
Being the eldest member of the parliament, Deniz Baykal moderated the General Assembly temporarily on June 23.
Election will be held next week
Speaker of 25th Term Parliament will be elected on June 30. If a majority isn’t constituted, another election will be held on July 1.
Names of candidates should be submitted to TBMM temporary Bureau of the Assembly until June 27.
Election will be held via secret ballots.
HDP and MHP nominated their candidates
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) nominated Dengir Mir Mehmet Fırat who is a deputy of Mersin province as Speaker.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) nominated İstanbul deputy Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu. (EKN/BD)
