Emine Şenyaşar lost her spouse and two sons in an attack by the security guards and relatives of İbrahim Halil Yıldız from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Urfa. She and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who survived the attack, have been demanding justice for 184 days.
Meeting in front of the Urfa Courthouse, the mother and son have started keeping a watch called "Justice corner of Şenyaşar family".
On the 183rd day of their "justice watch" yesterday (September 7), Emine Şenyaşar also demanded justice for her son Fadıl Şenyaşar, who lost his father Hacı Esvet and brothers Celal and Adil Şenyaşar in the attack and was sentenced to 37 years, 9 months in prison. Enver Yıldız, the other arrested defendant of the case, was also sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Emine Şenyaşar briefly stated the following:
'He wanted to kill my family, became an MP'
"I only want justice. What kind of justice is that? My son has been held in solitary confinement for three years and three months. I want my son to be released. Those who carried out this massacre are free outside. What kind of a state is this? They wanted to kill my entire family; but the person who did this was made a Member of the Parliament.
"My eyes cannot see anymore, I feel a tightness in my chest. My foot needs to be operated. But I do not accept any treatment before my son is free. Do the administrators have no conscience at all? I will haunt them in both worlds. What kind of atrocity is this? How much longer will this atrocity continue? I want to see my son by my side before I die.
"Such a massacre has not been witnessed anywhere before. They hide the footage of the massacre in the hospital. I have been sitting here for six months. I will not sit at home unless my son is free."
'Massacre in Suruç Public Hospital'
On their social media account, the Şenyaşar family also shared the following message: "There is a massacre in the Suruç Public Hospital. You have been stalling us for three years with ridiculous excuses. Everyone who carried out the massacre and protect the murderers will pay for this."

What happened?
During the election campaign of ruling AKP Urfa MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız in Suruç, Urfa on June 14, 2018, an attack turned into an armed conflict, which claimed the lives of Yıldız's brother Mehmet Şah Yıldız, shop owner Hacı Esvet Şenyaşar and his sons Adil and Celal Şenyaşar.
Having lost his father and two brothers and been wounded himself in the incident, Fadıl Şenyaşar was discharged from hospital and detained on June 17. He was then arrested and sent to prison.
