Statement from Gül, TÜSİAD on Raid on Boydak

11th President Abdullah Gül and the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) issued a statement regarding the police operation launched against Boydak Holding executives this morning (March 4).

Detention warrant was issued on four high-ranking executives of Boydak group on charge of “providing financial aid to Gülen Movement” this morning. Boydak Holding CEO Memduh Boydak, its Board Chairperson Hacı Boydak, and two members of the board Erol Boydak and Murat Bozdağ were taken into custody in Kayseri.

Gül: I hope they won’t be further aggrieved

Abdullah Gül made a statement to journalists following Friday prayer at Fatih Forestry Mosque situated in Sarıyer Regional Directorate of Forestry. “Boydak family is a family known with its industriousness, honesty, benevolentness. It is one of the most significant industrialists of Turkey. I hope they won’t be further aggrieved”, stated Gül.

TÜSİAD: We hope Boydak will return to his duty

TÜSİAD made a statement on Boydak Holding CEO Memduh Boydak:

“We have sadly learned of the news that our Board Member Memduh Boydak has been taken into custody. In a law state, no institute or individual including business world are exempt from any sort of inspection and investigation, and everyone should be accountable.

“We believe with our faith in democracy and reign of law that the process will completed at the shortest time and Mr. Boydak will return to his duty”.
