Various socialist parties, labor organizations and individuals announced their plan for a “roof party” that combines all these organization to struggle for democracy at the Taxim Square Hotel on December 28.
After the press release by Mustafa Sarıkaya, vice president of the Democratic Society Party (DTP), Gülsüm Önal, vice president of the Proletarian Movement Party, and Ayhan Bilgen, former president of Organization of Human Rights and Solidarity for Oppressed People (MAZLUM-DER), had their picture taken together.
“Side by side”
Those who joined the process said, “We decided to fight against the political and social obstacles in front of the Kurdish problem, the democratization of Turkey and stand on the side of the workers, those oppressed and for democracy, and stand side by side against exploitation, violence, sexual discrimination and militarism.”
December 20-21
At the meeting held on the days of 20 and 21 December, it was decided to widen the struggle to the local organizations in the leadership of a temporary committee made up of the representatives o the organizations who joined the process.
Committee’s duty will be to determine what the program and the form of organization of the alliance will be in the next six months, open the subject to discussion at the local bodies, continue with the publishing activities and end the process with a central meeting.

Democratic Society Party (DTP), Labor Prty (EMEP), Socialist Democracy Party (SDP), Socialist Party, Social Freedom Platform (TÖP), Socialist Labor Party (SHE), Proletarian Movement Party (EHP), 78ers, Anticapitalist and May 14.
