Two people on motorcycle have fired three blank shots in front of the home of the family of Republican People’s Party (CHP) MP Eren Erdem.
The Justice and Development Party (AKP) Parliamentary Group met with the CHP Parliamentary Group about this incident.
In a written statement, Erdem said:
“This afternoon, [on January 18], two people on motorcycles took three shots right in front of the window of the house in which my parents live.
“Following this incident, our governor and security forces stepped in and were dispatched to the scene.
“Whether this attack directly targeted my family will be revealed when security forces capture the assailants.
“While we are suspicious because the attack occurred right in front of the house on a non-busy street, the purpose and goals of the attack will be brought to light when the assailants are captured”.
