A person with a shotgun attacked the municipality's building in İstanbul's Princes' Islands (Adalar) district.
He reportedly attacked the municipality at around 6 a.m. because the water was cut off at his house. Windows of the building were broken after the shooting.
After municipal employees notified the police of the attack, the police detained M.Ş.A. (71).
The municipality released a statement later in the day, saying that M.Ş.A. applied to use an area in Gazi Mihal Street as an "organic agriculture and hobby garden." He was permitted, the statement said, however, electricity and the water to the garden were cut off after he built a "demounted building to carry out trading activities.
A criminal complaint was filed regarding the "illegal building," the municipality noted. (EMK/VK)
