Today Anti-Terror Branch teams took seven suspects including Faruk Sarı, Onur Karakaya, Osman Gülbel, Yılmaz Angın and Mehmet Ayhan under custody upon detention call regarding nine police department officers within the scope of enquiry over the claim of "neglect of public officers" as to the murder of Agos newspaper Chief Editor Hrant Dink.
According to the reports by various newspapers, two suspects are being looked for.
"Aiding intentional murder, destroying evidence"
According to Anadolu Agency, Prosecutor Gökalp Kökçü ordered these names to be taken into custody in the direction of new evidence and proofs:
Former İstanbul Intelligence Unit Head Ahmet İlhan Güler, former Security General Directorate (EGM) Intelligence Department Technical Unit Head Yunus Yazar, former vice head of EGM Intelligence Department Coşkun Çakar, Trabzon Vice Head of Intelligence Faruk Sarı, former chief of EGM Intelligence Unit Directorate C-2 Bureau Yılmaz Angın, former vice deputy managers of Intelligence Department Directorate C Unit Bülent Demireleski and Osman Gülbel, and police officers Mehmet Ayhan and Onur Karakaya.
Prosecutor Kökçü took this decision as to these figures based on crimes of "helping kill the person intentionally in an organized way, forgery and cover-up of official documents." (AS/TK)
