Following the rising of tensions in the southeastern district of Lice due to the removal of a PKK founder, senior sergeant Uğur Ünal reported killed himself by accident as he was loading his gun.
The incident was reported in Yolçatı village where the aforementioned statue is located.
It was reported that Uğur Ünal went back to his post location in Mardin after the removal in Lice. He accidentally shot himself as he was loading his gun. Transferred to Dicle University Medical School Hospital, Uğur Ünal lost his life despite all medical efforts last night.
