Answering the questions of A3Haber news website in Edirne Type F Prison, Demirtaş has criticized the ruling Justice and Development Party's (AKP) Libya policy in following words:
"The foreign policy of the AKP has been completely militarized. As they have lost their capacity and dignity to pursue a civilian foreign policy, they constantly resort to operational policies through war, conflict and tension.
"In foreign policy, Turkey can lay claim to the energy deposit, especially the one in the Mediterranean, it is natural for them to do so. But, let's think about it: Why cannot the government come to the table with anyone? Why is everyone trying to exclude Turkey?
"The government is lying by trying to explain it with 'hostility towards Turkey'. The policies pursued by the AKP in and outside Turkey have isolated Turkey. That is why, they are utterly desperate and they resort to military options to bridge the gap caused by their mistakes.
"Another reason is the policies of driving the country from war to war so that they can lean on nationalist and chauvinist feelings in domestic politics. Another reason is to save the pro-ikhwan government there.
"The right thing to do is not making military interventions in Libya or somewhere else, but trying to solve the problems with strong diplomatic relations. The AKP's possibility of achieving it is zero. Sending soldiers to Libya will not benefit the country. (EKN/SD)
