After the half-matched marrow transplanted to four-year-old leukemia patient Öykü Arin from her mother Eylem Şen Yazıcı on April 18 has failed, she has been transplanted the marrow of her father Çağdaş Yazıcı.
Diagnosed with Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia (JMML) last November, four-year-old Öykü Arin was transplanted the marrow of her mother Eylem Şen Yıldız. However, as the half-matched transplant has failed, the process for transplanting the half-matched marrow of her father has begun.
Posting a message on her Twitter account, mother Eylem Şen has once again reminded the public that the Ministry of Health has not yet processed the data on almost 100 thousand marrow donors.
Mutlaka iyileşecek!Asla ümitsiz değilim.Ama öfkeliyim.Almanya’da 7milyon donör var Türkiye’de 350bin. Herkes üzerine düşeni yapmalı. Vatandaşlar donör olmalı ve vazgeçmemeli. Sağlık bakanlığı numuneleri çalışmalı ve toplumu bilinçlendirmeli. @saglikbakanligi #ÖyküArineUmutOl pic.twitter.com/wsrUaB2ihX

Posting a series of tweets, mother Şen said,
"She will definitely get well! I am not hopeless. But, I am outraged. There are seven million donors in Germany and 350 thousand in Turkey. Everyone should do their part. Citizens should be donors and should not give up. The Ministry of Health should process the samples and raise public awareness.
"This system should have been established long ago in this country. Who knows how many children could not stay alive because of this. What we want is, in fact, not a favor, but an obligation."
Giving information about her daughter's current condition of health, Eylem Şen Yazıcı said, "She does not have a serious problem. It will be clear whether the transplant has succeeded or not in two to four weeks." (AÖ/SD)
