A Russian fighter jet was shot down in Turkey’s southeastern Yayladağı district of Hatay province on Turkish-Syrian border.
According Doğan Haber Ajansı (Doğan News Agency), the plane transgressing border was hit by fighter jets of Turkish Armed Forces (TSK). It is yet to be cleared to which country the plane belongs.
CNN Türk citing Turkmens living in the Bayırbucak region across the border says the plane crashed on tents set up in Yamadi village in Syria.

TSK: We warned before hitting
Presidency of General Staff issued a statement on the plane crashed:
“A plane of unknown origin violated Turkish Air Space on November 24, 2015 at around 9:20 a.m. in Hatay’s Yayladağı region despite several (10 times in five minutes) warnings. The plane was shot by two F-16 jets within the scope of engagement rules on November 24, 2015 at around 9:24 a.m.”.
Russia: We didn’t violate
Russian Defense Ministry has announced that their plane hit didn’t violate Turkish air space. The ministry said in its statement, “We can prove that the plane had been within Syrian borders during the whole flight”.
“According to our estimations, SU-24 fighter aircraft hit by a missile launched from the ground belongs to Russian Air Forces. We investigate the incident”.
The ministry added that fate of the pilots is unknown.

Official talks by Davutoğlu
Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has gathered with Chief Defense, Full General Hulusi Akar, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Feridun Sinirlioğlu to obtain information. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs upon Davutoğlu’s instruction will take steps in the presence of NATO, the United Nations and concerned countries.
According to state-run Anadolu News Agency, instruction has been given to take all kinds of measure against border transgressing in the security meeting held at Çankaya Mansion on Sunday.
War on Turkmen Mountain
Clashes continue in Derhanne, Kızıldağ and Fırınlık neighborhoods located in Latakia rural in Syria. Kızıldağ, the most strategic point of Turkmen Mountain was seized by Syrian regime forces yesterday.
Along with Syrian forces Hezbollah militia and Iranian forces support the operation over-land, and Russia supports it over air. Turkmen Mountain was in control of Syrian opposition forces.
According to Anadolu Agency, Turkmens in the area have launched a large scale operation.
Sultan Abdülhamid Brigades which include Turkmens fighters as well claim Russia bombs civilians. Residents of the bombed are have been placed in directing point Yamadi camp bordering Yayladağ. Aid of Red Crescent and Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) into the region continues.
One of the leaders of Turkmens from Syria, Ali Türkmani in his statement to BirGün daily expressed that those fighting against the regime Al Qaeda’s Syrian branch Al Nusra, and Free Syrian Army members, and that the regime has launched an operation against them. (AS/TK)
