RTÜK Warns TV Program Due to Author Speech
Turkey's Higher Board of Radio and Television issued a warning on Aykırı Sorular program on CNNTürk Television, saying that program guest Pınar Kür, an author, made a "speech provoking discrimination based on race, etnicity, language or gender".

Turkey's Higher Board of Radio and Television (RTÜK) issued a warning on Aykırı Sorular program hosted by Enver Aysever on CNNTürk Television.
The aforementioned program was aired on April 8 with Pınar Kür saying that she "found headscarves as something of backwardness". RTÜK found the speech "provoking discrimination based on race, etnicity, language or gender", issued a warning on the TV network.
Kür also said the following during the program: “There is no whole freedom left in the coutry. No freedom of exression either. Women have no fault here as there is no mentality difference between a woman who chose to cover herself and another woman who poses for Plaboy". (EA/BM)
