A person suspected to have launched Reina attack which killed 39 people has been seized.
İstanbul Anti-Terror Bureau Directorate units carried out an operation into an apartment in İstanbul's district of Esenyurt at around 11:30 p.m.
Four more people including three women who are citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Senegal, Somali and Egypt were detained alongside the suspect allegedly using codename “Abu Muhammed of Khorasan” were detained as well.
It was learned that the suspect’s 4-year-old son was near him at the time of the operation.
There are photos among the ones disclosed to the press displaying that the suspect was beaten.
İstanbul Governor Vasip Şahin and İstanbul Security Directorate Mustafa Çalışkan will issue a press statement as to the capturing of the suspect at 10:30 today (January 17). (EKN/TK)
