Chief prosecutor Turan Çolakkadı denied allegations that the prosecutors who are currently working on the corruption probe case have not been dismissed.
“According to information by law enforcement authorities, 3 separate investigations have been launched on 13 September 2012, 21 September 2012 and 14 February 2013. Within the investigation, several suspects including civilians as well as state officers have been charged with violation of bay construction laws, bribery and abuse of duties.
2 more prosecutors assigned
“In order to expedite the evidence collection, completion of investigation and assist the ongoing investigation process, two more prosecutors have been assigned to the case.
“The newly assigned prosecutors have been assigned within Bureau of State Worker Crimes Investigation and Special Investigation Office. They have been on the post for a long time.
Additional detention periods
In addition to that, prosecutors have requested additional detention periods for 28 suspects.
On the other hand, Halkbank General Manager’s wife Gülbahar Aslan have been released after her statement according to an order by prosecutor Celal Kara.
“Abuse of duties”
Police authorities made the following statement concerning the 5 recently-dismissed police commissioners.
