A prosecution has been launched for charges related to “insulting the president” into BirGün newspaper’s headline yesterday that wrote “thief” in Ottoman.
“If you are going to teach us Ottoman with force, this is what will happen,” the newspaper wrote in the sub-headline. An article appeared on page 8.
Prosecutor Hasan Bölükbaşı launched the investigation, summoning the newspaper’s editor-in-chief and owner for testimony.
The prosecution notice also said that they would be “summoned by force” in case they didn’t show up in 7 working days.
“Erdoğan took the “thief” personally, prosecutor launched a case into BirGün,” the newspaper wrote today. (EA/BM)
