By using tear gas bombs and cannoned water, police intervened demonstrator groups who arrived in Silivri Correction Facility Complex to follow the Ergenekon trial held by Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court.
The incident broke out when demonstrators, who were left out of the courtroom due to room's incapacity, attempted to surpass a police barricade. Several demonstrators, including courtroom attendees, were affected by tear gas.
At the last hearing, prosecutor Mehmet Ali Pekgüzel read a summary of charges for defendants - charging life sentence for 64.
In today's hearing, 282nd since the beginning, 275 defendants - with 67 arrested - were expected to claim their cases for the last time before verdict.
The hearing, however, could not be held due to arguments in the courtroom and the police intervention outside.
Hasan Hüseyin Özese, the chief judge, declared that the trial to be rescheduled on April 11. (AS)
