Having told about the decision of State Council that offers the trimming of 16/9 skyscrapers in Zeytinburnu, İstanbul, which damage the city silhouette, Eyüp Muhçu, Chairman of the Chamber of Architects said: “PM Erdoğan had allowed to build approximately 200 skyscrapers that damage the silhouette of Bosphorus Peninsula and Anatolian Side”.
“I asked them to trim the skyscrapers and I kindly requested, but they didn’t do anything. That’s why, I was hurt and I haven’t communicate with them for 5 years” PM Erdoğan said. On account of the decision of State Council, 16/9 skyscrapers have to be trimmed.
“Court decisions are not executed”
Eyüp Muhçu told bianet and he stated decisions about some office complexes and hotels are not dissuasive, rather court decisions started to be not executed.
“Previously, we thought that court decisions would be dissuasive. However, court decisions weren’t executed. For example, Four Seasons Hotel, which is actually located in archeological land in historical peninsula was opened for management, although construction plan for Four Seasons Hotel was canceled and Ertuğrul Günay, old Minister of Culture and Tourism, said that they would destroy it. As well as Park Hotel was opened for management” said Muhçu.
“It’s enough to have a look at Maslak”
“There are many decisions which aren’t executed. On the one hand, none of court decisions are executed; on the other hand, several methods are developed for making decisions invalid. Either they change the plans and promulgate them, or they threaten the adjudicators. This is the point where we come.
“PM has been already informed about the 16/9 project and he allowed it. Why he brought up the issue of destruction of skyscrapers is because of the personal problems with the company. Construction permit for 200 skyscrapers which damage the silhouette of Bosphorus and Anatolian Side was given by PM. As a proof for that, it’s enough to have look at skyscrapers in Maslak” Eyüp Muhçu said. (NV/MUY/BM)
