Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) published a message supporting Syriza party and Greece, a country which will go bankrupt unless pay 1.6 billion Euro debt to International Monetary Fund (IMF) until the end of the day.
Co-Chair persons Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ stated in their message:
“We support Greek people, Syriza and their struggle in the name of justice, equality and democracy. Their struggle proves that another Europe is possible.
“European Commission, European Central Bank and IMF still have no solution in spite of austerity policy exposed to Greece between 2010 and 2012 and take a dim view of Syriza’s suggestions without caring Greece people’s democratic choice.
“Negotiations with Greece cause economic, social and political reflections. We believe that more reasonable agreements between the parts can be made except austerity policy exposed to peoples of Europe.
“We expect that Europe answers in the affirmative by seeing how Greece tries so hard to compromise.
“The Greek government offered people an option of referendum to agree with the suggestions made by European Commission, European Central Bank and IMF on June 25 in a Euro group meeting as a result of failed negotiations. Parliament of Greece approved the option of referendum which will be held on July 5, 2015.
“We support peoples of Greece and Syriza in tough times. We support government of Greece and Greek people on behalf of Europe consisted of countries on a base of solidarity. We believe in an equalitarian, fair and libertarian world more than ever. A united people will never be defeated!” (EKN/BD)
