On Sunday dozens of people arrived on Turkey's Imroz island on Sunday and took part in Easter Mass (Gökçeada) around a service presided by Greek Patriarch Bartholomeos.
The Easter Mass was held in Meryem Ana (Virgin Mary) Church.
Bartholomeos, an Imroz-born patriarch, also came together with his brothers and sisters who came to attend the mass from Australia, France and Greece.
Attending several services on Imroz's several villages, Bartholomeos also presided the ceremony in Meryem Ana (Virgin Mary) Church.
Among the many attendees of the mass included Nicolas Matthioudakis, Greece's General Consular to Istanbul.
Bartholomeos distributed 1,000 painted eggs after two hours of service that wished for world peace, prosperity and healing. Attendees also received bread and wine from the hands of the patriarch. Following the mass, a luncheon was organized. (NV/BM)
