As part of an investigation launched by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the "Fethullahist Terrorist Organization/ Parallel State Structure (FETÖ/PDY)," warrants have been issued against 29 people, including 28 officers from the Land Forces Command and one civilian.
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), as part of the investigation against the group held responsible for the coup attempt in 2016, "prosecutors in the capital Ankara have issued warrants for 29 people, including military staff and a civilian, over their suspected links to the FETÖ."
In a statement, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has said that "the police carried out anti-terror operations in 10 provinces and detained 22 suspects."
Separately,prosecutors have also issued warrants for 11 suspects in three Western provinces of Turkey, namely İstanbul, İzmir, and Balıkesir. Among the suspects are reporteld dismissed cadets, doctors, and private sector staff. The suspects are accused of "using ByLock, the group's encrypted smartphone messaging app, and being a member of FETÖ."
