Veterinary specialist corporal Hüsamettin Gökçe has lost his life during the "Operation Claw-Lightning and Claw-Thunderbolt" launched by the Turkish Armed Forces' (TSK) in Metîna, Avashin and Zap regions within the borders of the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
Sharing a message on social media, the Ministry of National Defense has expressed its condolences to the loved ones of the deceased soldier.

Turkey on April 23 announced the start of the "Operation Claw-Lightning and Claw-Thunderbolt," a new chapter in the "Claw operations" it had been conducting in Iraqi Kurdistan against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) since May 2019 The new operation targets Metîna, Avashin and Zap. On April 26, major general Aydoğan Aydın lost his life in the operation. (TP/SD)
