The Turkish Parliament decided by the ruling party's votes to conduct only one investigation against former Minister of Internal Affairs Muammer Güler, former Minister of Economy Zafer Çağlayan, former Minister of Environment and Urban Planning and former Minister of European Union for the accusations of December 17th Corruption Probe case.
Discussions on former ministers’ resolutions took 16 hours. While all proposals of the opposition parties were declined, Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) resolution was accepted. There is going to be only one investigation for former ministers.
A fight between deputies broke when Republican People’s Party (CHP) requested to have a separate commission for Zafer Çağlayan.
Çağlayan, Güler and Bağış made their statements, saying that the accusations were “lies”, “montage” and “framing”. Bayraktar didn’t give a speech and cried.
Meclis TV didn’t live broadcast the 16 hour-long sessions, but CHP İstanbul deputy Melda Onur broadcasted the whole session without any interruptions with her ipad.
