The group reminded that Nazila Mohammad Hassani Zamani and Farideh Asadi from Iran would be deported on March 20, due to a decision taken earlier this month and asked the Turkey branch of the United Nations (U.N.) to have the decision canceled.
The group said Nazila and Farideh faced the risk of being punished in Iran for "joining the fight for women's rights and equality against the anti-women actions and laws of the Islamic regime in Iran."
Proposed actions
The group said that the Turkish government recently has been cooperation with the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees and deporting Iranian refugees. It called for sensibility and cooperation against the deportation decision. The group asked for the following:
* Send letters of protest to the Turkey branch of U.N. and the Turkish government.
* Call on the U.N. for the protection of Nazila and Farideh and ask that they be granted refugee status.
* Contact Turkish Embassies and U.N. offices in your country. Call on them to stop the deportation of Nazila and Farideh and all the other Iranians who ask for refugee status. (EA/YE)
