The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services has issued a written statement regarding the murder of Emine Bulut, who was stabbed to death by her ex-husband Fedai Varan in the northwestern Kırıkkale province.
The statement said Emine Bulut's child had been placed under the supervision of the ministry's psychologists. It was also announced that a legal counsel had been appointed to make the perpetrator receive the heaviest sentence for the murder.
The husband said "After she insulted me while talking about the custody of our child, I stabbed her with the knife I brought along," in his interrogation. A footage of the incident spread on social media today.
Daughter is 'under protection'
The statement said the following:
"In Kırıkkale, 38-year-old E.The following statement was made on the image and news on social media and media outlets regarding the murder of B by his ex-wife:;
"Following the murder on 18.08.2019, which deeply shocked us all, our teams from the Kırıkkale Provincial Directorate of Family, Labor and Social Services were immediately involved in the incident. The daughter, who witnessed the attack, is with her relatives and under the supervision of our ministry's psychologists.
"The situation of our child and family is monitored 24/7 by our teams from the moment the incident happened. In order for the person who carried out the murder to receive the heaviest punishment, the ministry will also be involved in the case through the General Directorate of Legal Services. A petition has been filed to intervene in the case during the investigation and prosecution phase, and two legal counsels have been assigned to deal with the matter.
"The sharing of certain footage in various places, especially on social media injures our daughter and her family once again. Therefore, we expect sensitivity from our responsible citizens about these footages not be shared and spread.
"As the ministry, we would like it to be known that we will follow the judicial process and the psychological and social situation of the daughter until the end." (EMK/VK)
