Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu has addressed voters of the main opposition party Republican People’s Party (CHP) at the public meeting held at Silivri Uğur Mumcu Square in İstanbul.
Stating that CHP voters call for “one member from each family to vote for the HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) so that it can overcome [10-percent] electoral threshold”, Soylu said, “The votes you carry to the HDP will be accounted for”.
In his speech, Soylu said:
“There is this group of 1-1.5 percent in İstanbul. They have money in their pocket, they cross their logs and try to find an opportunity to plot something.
“Now they will vote the HDP. Do you know about the sufferings of mothers, fathers, artisans, businessmen, students there? Do you know about the pressure of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party) there? Do you know the fight of our children against terrorism there?
“Staging this is a very dirty and dangerous game. CHP voters, come to your senses, vote your party. Who opposed to you for voting your party?
“But you should know that the votes you carry to the HDP will be accounted for in this and other world by this innocent nation”. (EKN/TK)
