One worker has lost his life after a mine collapsed in Turkey's Black Sea province of Zonguldak yesterday (April 6).
As reported by the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), the incident happened at an unlicensed mine in Bölüm Neighborhood in Kilimli district.
Salif Zıvalı was trapped in the wreckage. Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) teams were referred to the area. With the help of the miners coming from other mines in the vicinity, Zıvalı could be pulled from the debris and was taken to a hospital.
The worker lost his life at Zonguldak Atatürk Public Hospital.
One worker died four days ago
A mine of a private company also collapsed during coal production in İnağzı Neighborhood in the morning on April 2. Trapped under the debris, 51-year-old mine worker Naci Şekerci lost his life in the incident. (EKN/SD)
