After Chair of Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Devlet Bahçeli posted a series of tweets about İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener yesterday (October 4), a group of MHP members gathered in front of Akşener's house at midnight.
In his Twitter posts, Bahçeli commemorated the soldiers who lost their lives in Batman yesterday and made the following remarks about Akşener:
"It is my last warning to this lady: If you continue your infuriating and border-breaching attitude of vandalism towards the MHP, which you want to separate and destroy, you will have to take its consequences. Mark my words, obey the words of your elders!
"She called the HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) the Kurdish political movement. She demanded amnesty for PKK's (Kurdistan Workers' Party) Demirtaş (HDP's imprisoned former Co-Chair) and voluntarily entered the orbit of the CHP (Republican People's Party). There remained no mask that she did not wear and no makeup that she did not make. She was also in the dead waters of the FETÖ (Fethullahist Terrorist Organization)."
Shortly after these tweets were posted, Akşener gave an answer to Bahçeli on Twitter. Stating that "she is impatiently waiting for the consequences that Bahçeli talked about", Akşener said,
"I wasn't brought up in the woods to be scared by owls" and shared the address of the İYİ Party Central Office in the capital city of Ankara.

In a few hours, a group of MHP members gathered in front of Akşener's house in the district of Beylerbeyi in İstanbul and started chanting slogans. Akşener and her husband responded to the group verbally.
