Journalist Ruken Demir, a reporter for the Mezopotamya Agency, has been taken into custody in a raid conducted to her house in early morning hours today.

Journalist Ruken Demir, a reporter for the Mezopotamya Agency (MA) in İzmir, has been taken into custody. As reported by the MA, Demir was detained in a raid conducted to her house in the district of Konak in İzmir at around 6 a.m. today (November 12).
Taken into custody on the ground that there was a warrant against her, Demir was handcuffed from behind and taken to the Anti-Terror Branch of the İzmir Provincial Directorate of Security.
While mobile phone, computer and other technical equipments found in her house have been seized by the police, she has not been allowed to consult with her lawyer as there is a 24-hour restriction order against her. (HA/SD)
