The Governor's Office of Tunceli has banned all types of meetings, demonstrations, conferences, festivals and concerts for 15 days.
The ban in question has been taken based on the Article 19 of the Law no. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations and the Articles 11/A and 11/C of the Law no. 5442 for Provincial Administration.
Accordingly, the ban will apply to the following events in Dersim (Tunceli) province for a period of 15 days:
"All types of meetings and protest marches, rallies, open air meetings, protest demonstrations, sit-ins, hunger strikes, opening stands, petitions, concerts, festivals, distributing leaflets and handouts, opening banners, lighting and carrying torches, conferences and all similar other events..."
Exceptions
While the ban will be in effect till 23.49 p.m. on September 28, 2020, the Governor's Office has also specified some exceptions:
- Events approved by Governor's Office and Sub-Governor's Offices
- The programs to be organized by public bodies and institutions to mark official holidays, official commemoration days, official ceremonies and celebrations and the programs to be held by these bodies and institutions according to traditions and customs
- Sports activities and the events and meetings to be held for scientific, commercial and economic purposes
- Press statements on the condition of minimum participation, use of face masks and observance of social distance rules
