Amid the calls of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) for the dismissal of İstanbul Provincial Ambulance Control and Command Center's Chief Physician Dr. Adil Yetiş Sarıhasanoğlu over his racist and sexist tweets targeting women in 2013 and 2014, the İstanbul Medical Chamber has launched an inquiry.
On the Twitter account allegedly used by Sarıhasanoğlu, there were social media posts targeting women as well as Alevi and Kurdish citizens. After these posts were reported in the press and shared on social media, it has caused a public outcry, which is also shared by the opposition.
Amid these criticisms and calls for his dismissal, the İstanbul Medical Chamber has announced that it has launched an inquiry.

Releasing a statement on its website, the Medical Chamber has said: "The racist and sexist social media posts allegedly belonging to İstanbul Provincial Ambulance Control and Command Center European Region Chief Physician Dr. A.İ.S. have rightfully caused great outrage.
"An inquiry has been launched by the İstanbul Medical Chamber against the mentioned physician over the related allegations; it will be shared with the public when it is finalized." (BS/EMK/SD)
