Mayor Candidate Pledges 500,000 Cats to Rome

Mayor candidate in Italy’s capital city of Rome, Antonio Razzi has promised to bring 500,000 cats from Asia as a solution to imbalance in mouse-human population in the city.

The center-right party Forza’s nominee Razzi speaking to Adnkronos noted that the cat might be cared by “old cat ladies” and they can be provided financial aid.

While the number of street cats dwindle down, mouse population is in increase. The mice choosing Trevi fountain, which was dewatered last year for restoration, as their habitat had caused closure of booking hall of the Colosseum in March.

According to the Local, mouse population is 6 million while human population is 2.6 million in the city. (ÇT/TK)
