At the night of March 8 International Women's Day, feminist night marches will be held in several cities of Turkey. The 17th Feminist Night March, which has been held along the İstiklal Avenue in Beyoğlu, İstanbul since 2003, will start at 7.30 p.m. in front of French Cultural Center in Taksim.
On the occasion of the International Women's Day, feminist night marches will also be held in the districts and cities of Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, Çanakkale, Eskişehir, Fethiye, Kocaeli, İzmir and Mersin. Thousands of women are expected to join the marches.
Women to gather at Sakarya Square in Ankara
Upon the call of the women from Ankara Feminist Collective and Feminist Communication, the 13th Feminist Night March will be held in the capital city of Ankara. The march will start at Sakarya Square at 8 p.m.
After marching along the streets of the capital, women will meet at Nefes Bar for the Feminist Night Entertainment.
As for the other night marches, women will be at Kültür Sokak in Adana, at the Hadrianus Gate in Antalya, at the Tepecik Mosque Square in Bodrum, in front of the office of Centre for Measurement, Selection and Placement (ÖSYM) in İzmir and at Pozcu Kushmiato Street in Mersin at 7 p.m.
Women to meet at 8 p.m. in Çanakkale and Fethiye
In Eskişehir, women will meet in front of Espark Shopping Mall for the feminist night march; in Kocaeli, they will be in front of Municipality Office Block; and in Samsun, in front of Teacher's House at 6.30 p.m.
The feminist night marches will begin at 8 p.m. in front of Golf Tea Garden in Çanakkale and at Beşkaza Square in Fethiye.
