Lake Kuyucuk in the eastern Kars province, which is protected by the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands, dried for the second time.
One of the 14 Ramsar sites in Turkey, the lake is located on the migration routes of several bird species.
The bird sanctuary, which has a lake of approximately 245 hectares and a Ramsar area of 416 hectares, is at an altitude of 1627 meters above sea level.
When the lake was completely dried in 2019, the Governor's Office of Kars carried out drilling work to provide water to the lake. (EMK/VK)
