Barzani Charity Foundation aid workers started setting up 500 tents sent by the Kurdistan Regional Government (IKRG) today in an area in the Kayalık neighborhood of Adıyaman.
The tents which allow ten people to stay inside will be equipped with the necessary equipment.
The Barzani Charity Foundation is planning to set up 2,500 tents in five different areas and also set up eating halls, infirmaries, toilets, showers, and social facilities in these areas.
A total of 25 thousand people will be accommodated in the tents.
Abdulvahit Emin Selim from the Barzani Charity Foundation told Anadolu Agency that they were helping the earthquake victims in Türkiye since the first day.
"Our rescue teams were in Maraş, Gaziantep, Diyarbakır, Adıyaman, and İskenderun. Our health teams arrived and we also delivered food to people. We then came to their service, setting up tents. After we set up the tents we will equip them with kitchen utensils, carpets, and blankets and also place heaters inside so that a family will be able to stay in one tent. We will also provide food for the families. AFAD (the Disaster and Emergency Presidency of Türkiye) will help us set up the tents," Selim said. (TY/PE)
